FREE COUNSELING AND CASE MANAGEMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS DIAGNOSED WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS (MS)

 
 

Did you know that...?

  • An estimated 50% of people with multiple sclerosis (MS) are diagnosable with depression by the age of 59 years.

  • Depression can be a side effect for some medications prescribed for people with MS.

  • Stress can have a negative impact on the immune system. Managing stress can prevent relapse and exacerbation and maintain overall physical health and wellness.

  • The risk of suicide is 7.5 times higher for people with MS than for the general population.

  • Counseling and case management can provide you with:

  • Strategies for managing stress, depression, and anxiety

  • Help with coping and adjusting to change

  • Resources you can use to improve your quality life


If you have been diagnosed with MS and do not have insurance benefits, you may be eligible for free counseling and case management with a qualified private therapist at Integrity Counseling & Coaching, Inc. Call the Mid-Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at 1-800-344-4867 to apply for the Financial Assistance Program.  The MS Society representative will mail you an application package.  Please return to them the completed package, along with a written diagnosis and prescription for counseling/case management from your physician.
